“Devote yourselves to prayer.. ” ~ Colossians 4:2 NIV
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” ~ Psalm 103:12 NIV
Is it just me, or do we all seem to be going through pretty heavy real life stuff as of late?
I have yet to divulge/put into words my recent family medical emergency with you all, and I am even more appreciative of your kind thoughts, vibes, and prayers without even knowing the details. Before it seemed like a bad dream. I didn’t want to speak or write about it because it would make it real — a reality. Now that time has passed (seven months, already!), I suppose I have gotten stronger, and will share our journey when I find the appropriate words.
While my family still needs your prayers, a few of my good friends also need our prayers…
When I wrote my review for “The Shack” I brought up my friend Cody who was in a horrific car crash that should have ended his life. His 6’6″ frame was crunched, crumpled, and coiled around metal and the remains of his car–it truly is a miracle he is alive.
He was unconscious and encountered several otherwise fatal injuries, and was literally put back together by the amazing Doctors at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland Oregon. Cody is continuing to improve everyday, and since that video his speech has improved impeccably. When we talk on the phone, he sounds basically like his old self!
In the car accident, his eye sight was severed, and unfortunately he is still without sight. I can’t even imagine being in his shoes, and commend his bravery, strength, and courage! Here is another video of him — you will be astonished by his improvement since the first video..
Please pray for him. Pray he gets his eyesight back, and that he continues to change people’s lives for the better. My constant pleading prayer is that my good friend builds an eternal relationship with Jesus.
Another special friend of mine, Brandi, was recently in a near fatal car crash. She has already had multiple surgeries and they had to insert a titanium rod to fix her broken femur. She received complete reconstruction of her knee cap, and it was discovered during surgery that she fractured her hip socket. The doctor’s also had to repair the tendon damage in three of her fingers, and she suffered minor fractures in her right foot.
Brandi’s road to recovery has been stunted by blood clots, mostly in her legs if I’m not mistaken, and is currently undergoing surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she struggles to keep it together, and heal. She is also an amazingly strong woman, and I am amazed by her bravery and blessed by her positive spirit.
You are always in my thoughts and prayers Sara! You are a very strong woman, too, and I admire your strength and effort to share with the world your experience. I hope to find the words to my story, soon.
THANK YOU PRAYER WARRIORS! 🙂
