Favorite Football Pastime

When I think of Fall, I automatically think of football — and thanks to my Southern Gentleman, I couple Fall Football with Auburn Football!

Last year we were damn near at every home game, and I am forever grateful for every moment I spent in Auburn — it is so beautiful, and I know I am a lucky girl to have been able to frequent the Jordan Hare Stadium..

One of my favorite things to do while enjoying some good Auburn Football, is spending that time with good friends and ice cold libations…

..And playing Double Ladder ball at halftime!! Suz and I were on fire a few weekends ago and took home the most wins — it was so much fun!! You can read more about it here and see more pictures, too!

What is your favorite football pastime?

  1. YAY love Auburn! You are so lucky to get to go to the games! The Auburn hotel they have on campus there is AMAZING have you ever been? Love the TP'd trees picture, so cute!

  2. Jenn-If you had been there for our wedding you could have stayed at the Auburn Hotel & Conference Center. We rented out the Presidential Suite & a Jr Executive Suite and had a blast!

Jen-Are you an Auburn girl too?

Christina-If you could just be in Alabama the day of the Auburn-Alabama game you would be shell shocked. It's CRAZY!

  6. I still to this day don't understand why Auburn fans say “war eagle” when their mascot is a tiger!!

  7. “War Eagle” is Auburn's battle cry, not a mascot or nickname. The most popular story about the battle cry dates back to the first time Auburn met Georgia on the football field in 1892 and centers around a spectator who was a veteran of the Civil War. In the stands with him that day was an eagle the old soldier had found on a battlefield during the war. He had kept it as a pet for almost 30 years. According to witnesses, the eagle suddenly broke free and began majestically circling the playing field. As the eagle soared, Auburn began a steady march toward the Georgia end zone for a thrilling victory. Elated at their team's play and taking the bird's presence as an omen of success, Auburn students and fans began to yell “War Eagle” to spur on their team. At the game's end, the eagle took a sudden dive, crashed into the ground, and died. But the battle cry “War Eagle” lived on to become a symbol of the proud Auburn spirit.

    Thanks for your comment Colby!
