Guilty. Big time. In fact, I really do feel as if I’m heading in 14 different directions. My infinite loop of busyness has been so overwhelming for so long now, I have finally hit my wall. And that is when I found this very message in my email inbox. Coincidence? I think not. This spiritual slap in the face was a reality check that 1) I haven’t been to church since the new year, and 2) I don’t pray as much as I used to — including not utilizing my prayer journal as often as I originally planned — amongst so many other burdens. This current schedule of mine hasn’t allowed time for solitude and moreover, I’ve been slacking in overall health as well. That is the definition of a deadly combination and is by all means not sustainable over time. I want out of this spiderweb — immediately.
Clearly I’ve become a victim of being trapped under Satan’s yoke and Jesus is delicately redirecting my line of vision with a friendly reminder of what is more important. Which is my relationship with Him, of course!
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” ~ Ephesians 6:11 NIV
I need to put on my full armor of God so that I can have the strength and courage to keep going, to stand against the devil’s schemes, trials and tribulations.
If you are feeling tested, stressed, and/or completely overwhelmed like I have been, perhaps you also need to redirect your line of vision… Recharge your batteries by putting on His armor — because all things are possible through Him who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13).

Amen Amen Amen!!
I read something (can’t remember where of course) that talked about how being so busy leaves no room for God. How can you tell if you’re TOO busy?
Remember the story of Mary and Martha? Jesus comes to their house and Mary decided she’s just going to kick it with JC because, you know, he is the Messiah after all. And Martha’s complaining because Mary isn’t helping her be a good host!
Now who do you sympathize with? At one point, I was sympathizing with Martha! There was work to be done so that I can be a good host and have a nice, well functioning home and family to welcome Jesus to. Um, how about welcoming the King of Kings, first?
Yup, right in the gut. I was totally a Martha. Still am- but not as much =)
Busy-ness is definitely one of the easiest ways to get me distracted, one to-do list at a time.
Perfect reference story in regards to gaining perspective! And I love your last sentence: one to-do list at a time! Amen sister
You need to read a book by Kelly Minter called The Fitting Room: Putting on the Character of Christ. It touches on exactly what you are talking about and I will be the first to admit that it was a real eye opener for me in certain areas of my life. I think you would love it!
I have heard of and seen that book before — and truth be told, the cover of the book really intrigued me! I just added it to my goodreads list of books I want to read. Thanks Suz!
amen! so guilty of this! thanks jenn!
